The fear of failure paralyzes peoples ambitions. Network marketers that fail most, commonly lack action, they lack action because they are scared. Failure is your best friend!!! huh? you ask... Failure is your best friend!!! I cannot emphasize that enough. Every time you fail, you learn. Many of the most successful people in the world will tell you they have failed many times before they achieved their goals. If people like Warren Buffet or Donald Trump let the fear of failure paralyze them when they were striving to achieve their dreams then we wouldn't have heard of them because they would have been average people just like the rest of us.
Buffet, Trump and many other successful people graciously accept failure because they know it is part of life and the lessons learned from failing can be used constructively in their future endeavors.
You must accept that failure will happen and get used to it! If you don't ask, then the answer is always no. If you don't try, then the result is inactivity. Get out there and graciously accept failure as it comes, you will be better in your future endeavors because of it.
In network marketing, if your not talking about your business then you are not working it. Being active means you are sampling product, prospecting over the web, and simply sharing your opportunity everywhere you can.
Some people think the high failure rate is because of a lack of education and there may be some truth to that but I assure you that good companies will provide plenty of opportunity to educate yourself.
People who advertise with unattainable promises such as, "Earn $5000.00 a week in just a month, find out how I did it!" or "I've discovered a secret, after years of never sponsoring anyone I found the secret that exploded my business, I will share this with you for only $xx.xx" are not quality people. Those are the ads and people that give network marketing a bad name! True professionals do not need gimmicks to sell themselves.
That leads me to the next reason people fail in network marketing and that is unreal expectations. It is said that most companies do not break even until after year one. As a distributor you should consider yourself a business, you must be willing to put some blood, sweat and tears into your business to get it rolling. It will not happen overnight because it is not a get rich quick scheme.
Many new distributors get to about month three in their new opportunity and are discouraged because they are spending more than they are earning back. People decide to quit trying at this point and they became another statistic for the failure rate.
There are many opportunities out there for you to be successful. People want to be around successful individuals who can help them achieve their goals, be that person. Overcome your fear of failure and use it to your advantage. Take your weaknesses and work on them. If you are scared to talk to people on the phone, try cold calling lists. This will not result in getting more distributors, but it will help you get over your fear of the phone.
Ultimately, your path is up to you. No one is responsible for your success except you and you can choose to be average, or be part of the 3% percent who excel.
